Celebrating the Joyful Moments in Preschool (小朋友的笑话)

Preschool life is filled with a million moments of learning, bonding, and most importantly joy. Children approach the world so differently than we do as adults and the things they observe, do, and say help us see the world in a different light. As we approach the holiday season, we wanted to share just a few of the many preschool moments that brighten our days and bring smiles to our faces. Here are some PKS preschool fun stories (小朋友的笑话).

The Search for the Missing Sock

IMG_1389.jpg

During Extended Care, we were trying to help a student, let’s call her Jane, find one of her socks. We looked everywhere, but we couldn’t find it.

A student walks up to a Laoshi with phone in hand, and says “Laoshi, I am going to call her 袜子(sock), so 我们可以找到她的袜子 (we can find it).”

She says into the phone “Hello, Hello, Jane 的袜子 (Jane’s sock), 你在哪里?(Where are you?)“

The sock does not answer. Then, she looked at the Laoshi and said  “它不在 (It’s not there), so I am calling the dirt now…”

She says into the phone “Hello dirt... okay, do you know where Jane’s 袜子(sock) is? You found it?! Okay, good.”

She turns to the Laoshi and says “I know where the 袜子(sock)is, 它在(it is in the) dirt, but it is dirty now!” XD

Please Don’t Means Don’t

A group of children were playing with play doh. A friend sitting next to a student, let’s call him John, reaches over and takes a piece of play doh from John’s work. John doesn’t say anything. When the friend takes John’s play doh for the second time, John says: “Please don’t.”

The friend doesn’t seem to get John’s message and reaches out to take play doh for the third time. In a clear and loud voice, John quickly tells his friend: “DADDY SAID PLEASE DON’T MEANS DON’T.”

You’re Not a Mommy, You’re a Teacher

IMG_9011.jpg

During lunch time….

Student A: Do you have a baby in your tummy?

Daisy: How did you know?

Student A: Because you have a big tummy.

Student B: No. She doesn’t have a baby.

Daisy: Why not?

Student B: Because you are a teacher, you can’t also be a mommy!

Too Many Friends

IMG_3035.JPG

At the beginning of most school days, we have one child count how many friends are in class.

One day the student in charge of counting his friends was so focused on touching their heads that he totally lost track of what number he was on.

When the teacher asked: “How many friends came to school today?” the student replied, “Too many.”

You’re My Dad’s Teacher?!

IMG_1753.jpg

A Laoshi was outside playing with children, much as she does every day. One of the children comes up to her, gives her a big hug and curiously asks, “Laoshi, what class are you a teacher for?”

Laoshi replies, “I am everyone’s teacher. Don’t you see me going into every class?”

The student’s eyes get wide and in surprise he exclaims, “So, you’re my dad’s teacher?!”

I’m Going to Marry Someone Who Speaks Mandarin

IMG_0853.jpg

Student A: One day, I am gonna marry someone who speaks Mandarin.

Teacher: Why?

Student A: Because I want to marry someone like me!

Teacher: Someone like you?

Student A: Yes, someone who speaks Mandarin like me! So that person can understand what I am talking about.

I Want to Share My Food with You Too!

IMG_1872.jpg

During lunch one day, a group of children were talking about sharing food with their friends. One student says, “我知道 Meiying老师 喜欢葡萄, and these grapes are super sweet. 我要save一个葡萄给她!'“ (I know that Meiying Laoshi loves grapes, and these grapes are super sweet. I want to save a grape for her!”

The student next to her, after taking a big bite of her food, stops and thinks for five seconds. She then takes the spoon out of her mouth and holds it up to Meiying Laoshi’s mouth. “这是我最喜欢吃的,我也要分享给你, 因为我很爱你!“(This is my favorite food, I want to share with you, too, because I love you very much!)
